Andrew Bird and Iron & Wine perform the ‘Tiny Desk Concert’

Yesterday on YouTube, NPR Music shared their latest Small desk concert featuring a four-song collaboration between Andrew Bird and Iron & Wine, who are currently touring across the country.

The duo settled into Andrew Bird’s original “Make a Picture” from his 2022 album, On the inside Problemsteaming up on the catchy lyrics and picking the beat, which also saw Bird use his instrument for multiple purposes during the epic opening number.

To follow, the musicians turned to Iron & Wines material with “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” from his 2007 effort, The shepherd’s dogafter some friendly banter and an introduction from Bird, who opened the number with a flawless violin solo.

By the third song of the set, the musician’s chemistry seemed undeniable as they once again turned to Bird’s repertoire on “Left Handed Kisses” before wrapping up the four-song set on the latter’s 2012 album, break it yourselfon “Orpheus looks back”.

To follow their Small desk together, the duo will continue the Outside Problems tour at the Salt Shed in Chicago tonight, with Meshell Ndegeocello.
