Iconic holiday festival in from Austin Zilker Park will kick off with a nighttime lights preview party December 2; Registration for December 3 Annual fun run available now

AUSTIN, TX, August 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Path of Lights Foundation announces today that the 58th Annual Austin Lights Trailpowered by HEB, downtown from Austin the iconic Zilker Park will return to its traditional in-person format Thursday, December 8, 2022 through Friday, December 23, 2022, (closed on Mondays). Visitors looking for their first glimpse of the most beloved and oldest holiday tradition of its kind in Texas’ capital, can attend the 9th Annual Night Lights Preview Party Friday, December 2, 2022presented by Broadway Bank, or participate in the 11th Annual Austin Trail of Lights Fun Run on Saturday, December 3, 2022presented by That of Chuy.

Voted 10th Best Public Christmas Lights Display by UNITED STATES Today and named one of the best places to see Christmas lights by CNN, the event has become a not-to-be-missed community event. Originally a small community gathering in 1965, the Austin Trail of Lights now welcomes more than 400,000 guests each year for its jubilant display of lights and nightly entertainment. It includes over 2 million lights, 90 lighted holiday trees, and over 70 lighted holiday displays and tunnels.

Committed to ensuring the holiday tradition is accessible to everyone in the community, general admission is free and open to the public on seven of the 14 nights, and children under 12 are always free. Additional ticket options available this fall include early entry ZIP passes, VIP Platinum passes, parking and shuttle passes for purchase on select nights. In addition, up to 50 private parties are held each year at Le Sentier and are currently available to book. All ticketing packages and hospitality parties directly support community outreach efforts such as free nights, the STARS program and community entertainment platforms.

The tickets for the December 2 Night Lights Preview Party presented by Broadway Bank, the Foundation’s official fundraiser and first-look opportunity, goes on sale in early October when the Box Office opens. 11th Annual Lights Trail Run

The annual Austin Trail of Lights Fun Run, presented by Chuy’s, features a festive course beginning at the Zilker Holiday Tree. Thousands of guests wearing holiday costumes will roam the grounds of the Austin Trail of Lights, culminating in the Finish Line Festival, which includes a DJ dance party, food and drink, photos with Santa, a exhibition and more. Attendees will be encouraged to participate in Chuy’s long-standing annual effort to support the Austin Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa program.
