Cactus Club, Cooperage and Landmark Lanes announce temporary closures due to Covid-19

Several bars and concert halls in Milwaukee have announced temporary closures as the city suffers another rapid increase in Covid-19 cases.

The Cactus Club announced its closure from December 24-31 “as we assess the needs of artists, community and staff in the face of the abrupt and widespread spread of Covid-19”. On Instagram, the site wrote: “It’s not an easy or desirable decision to make a second time. We will be back to serve, welcome and celebrate with you soon. We will continue to assess conditions and decide what is best for our team. A hip-hop bill presented by Breaking and Entering tonight on location should still go as planned.

Boone and Crockett and The Cooperage have also both announced closures starting tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Landmark Lanes will remain closed after announcing it was temporarily shutting down yesterday. “Some of our team who have tested positive for Covid-19, and for the health and safety of our team and our customers, will not return to work until they test negative,” wrote the business on Facebook.

City health officials have stressed that Covid-19 vaccines and boosters offer the best protection against the virus. For more information on vaccines, you can visit Radio Milwaukee’s Vaccine Resource Guide.
