Focus on the theme “Investing in games” on March 1 and 2, 2023 – European Gaming Industry News

The Hamburg Games Conference will return on March 1 and 2, 2023 as an on-site event at a new location in Hamburg. The conference theme “Investing in Games” will shed light on current and future developments in the international games industry: where are the still untapped potentials in the games markets? What difficulties do studios face in finding funding and partners for their projects? Will the wave of billion-dollar mergers and acquisitions in the international games industry continue? The latest edition of the conference, the Hamburg Games Conference Hybrid 2022, welcomed over 600 attendees online and in Hamburg. The Hamburg Games Conference 2023 will offer two parallel conference tracks on each of the two days: In the main track, the conference theme “Investing in games” will be explored from the perspective of game studios and investors. The second part will highlight the theme of “Funding” on the one hand – many speakers will share their experiences and best practices for working with investors or public funding to finance and market digital games. On the other hand, lectures and keynotes on development and startup topics will provide a comprehensive overview of the opportunities and challenges of the growing gaming market. In addition, exhibitors from various areas of the gaming industry will present their (indie) games and services in an exhibition area.

Both in terms of together and practical best practices for the multitude of companies and start-ups active in the gaming industry in Hamburg and around the world,” says Dennis Schoubye, Head of Gamecity Hamburg, the localization initiative which is co- organizer of the Hamburg Games Conference.

The first highlights of the program will be announced soon – further contributions are sought via the call for speakers

The conference organizing team, consisting of Super Crowd Entertainment, Gamecity Hamburg and GRAEF Rechtsanwälte, will soon announce the first keynote speakers from the international games industry.

At the same time, the Hamburg Games Conference is calling for submissions of conference contribution proposals in English. The call for speakers runs through January 20, 2023. Submissions on the topics of “Investing in Games”, Game Funding and Development, and Marketing are now open to https://www.gamesconference.com/call-for-papers.

Strengthen networking and exchanges with an on-site event only

After two conference editions with digital and hybrid event concepts, the program for the 14th Hamburg Games Conference in 2023 will once again be held entirely on site and for the first time in the Altonaer Museum Hamburg.
