North Shropshire dog lovers wanted to help national charity

NORTH Shropshire dog lovers are urged to help a national charity find people to help owners of older dogs.

The Cinnamon Trust is a national charity whose volunteers help those past retirement age and those in the late stages of terminal illness by providing all kinds of free pet care.

They look for people who can offer them support, either by taking them for a walk or by welcoming them.

A spokesperson said: “Many owners of elderly or sick animals are concerned about their ability to provide proper care to their animals and are starting to look to relocate what may be their only companion.

“This is where our national network of dedicated volunteers comes in to provide support to keep them together.

“We will walk the dog for a housebound owner, we will welcome pets when owners need hospital or hospice care, and even clean the bird cage or litter boxes.

“If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you can download our volunteer registration form from our website www.cinnamon.org.uk or email us at calls@cinnamon.org.uk

“If you would like to have a more in-depth discussion on how to become a volunteer, please call us during office hours (Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm) on 01736 758 701, or you can visit our website www.cinnamon. org. UK for more details. ”
