“Losing my dad in the middle of planning this wedding was a lot,” she said. “So my sons delivered me.”
The mother of five also had her daughters in attendance (Amira and Me’arah).
Bishop Jacques TD hosted the ceremony at the resort, which the now-married couple said they “immediately fell in love with” on a previous trip.
“I think after that first visit, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married,” O’Neal said. Henderson said Anguilla’s hospitality and rich history made him want to “start their journey” there.
The approximately 200 guests in attendance were originally supposed to be just 50, hoping for a special and intimate gathering.
“We wanted our guests to have a fun weekend,” O’Neal said. “We just like to have fun and love each other and we wanted to do that with our friends and family.”
Henderson recalled the night the two lovebirds first met and the undeniable chemistry of their first date in a hotel lobby.
The two dated for two years before their November 2021 engagement.
O’Neal said Henderson was a perfect fit for his family before they married. She notes that the family loves her “which makes me love her even more.”
As for Henderson, he says the feeling is mutual and the two “want to build a legacy together.”
