The convenience store industry is advancing at full speed

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Registration is open for the world’s largest convenience event: the 2022 NACS Show, taking place October 1-4 in Las Vegas. After enduring more than two years of disruption, the convenience industry is ready to move forward, full speed ahead.

This year’s NACS Show theme ‘Full Speed ​​Ahead’ builds on the momentum of last year’s theme ‘We Got This’. The industry is moving beyond the pandemic and defining the future of convenience.

“The value of convenience continues to grow as customers continually redefine what it means to them,” said Henry Armour, President and CEO of NACS. “It’s more important than ever to see and hear how trends can – and do – impact retail.”

Many consumers are ready to leave the confines of virtual and telecommuting environments for real, real-time business, and convenience professionals are more prepared than ever to pick up momentum, take on new challenges, and continue to innovate at full speed.

“The industry is moving at full speed, and the 2022 show will continue to focus on advancing the business goals of the convenience industry,” Armor said.

Industry members will learn from each other, discover the latest products and innovations, and gather insights into key industry trends at this year’s show. There will be 425,000 square feet of exhibit spacewith over 1,200 exhibitors in five categories of interest: Merchandise, candy and snacks, technology, facility development and store operations, fuel equipment and services, food equipment and food service programs.

Back again this year, the Cool new product preview room will provide attendees with an up-close look at industry news, trends and must-haves. Plus, scan hundreds of new products using the official NACS Show mobile app to create your own shopping list and prioritize must-have exhibitors and products at the show. And the New Exhibitor Areaa crowd favorite, allows attendees to be the first to learn about the latest technologies, equipment, products and companies entering the convenience market, including emerging categories.

Each year, NACS Show training provides essential expertise in key areas such as catering, technology, leadership and operations. This year 45+ training sessions were dreamed up and crafted by the convention’s content committee – industry peers – with the goal of providing the most relevant and engaging content for NACS attendees, including workforce issues labor, supply chain disruption, inflation and recession. The education provided at the NACS Show will be more about convening and guiding – and facilitating a conversation that could lead to solutions.

This year, NACS welcomes two pre-conference events attendees can register for with their NACS show registration:

  • NACS Advanced Category Management Certification Workshop, where category management professionals can earn their NACS Certified Convenience Advanced Category Management certification by completing a six-hour hands-on training session.
  • NACS Food Safety Conference. New this year, food safety, catering, quality and assurance and risk management professionals will host a one-of-a-kind, industry-specific event for the global retail community Proximity.

NACS also hosts four practical training workshops to help solve the unique challenges of smallholders. Participation is limited to the first 45 retailers to arrive and no pre-registration is required.
