Where are all the best dressed pets in the state of Ohio? : We want to see them, send us your photos

The 2022 season has officially kicked off for Ohio State Buckeye fans. The No. 2-ranked Buckeyes kicked off their season with a solid 21-10 victory over No. 5 Notre Dame on Saturday night at the Horseshoe in Columbus, and we’re pretty sure every fan was wearing their best Scarlet and Gray gear.

But what about that loyal member of the family who sits next to you through all the wins and losses – dancing as you cheer and ready to comfort you in defeat? Whether your pet is furry or feathered, or sports scales, they’re there for you and the team. What are they wearing on game day?

To celebrate the 2022 OSU football season, we’re looking for the cutest – and most decorated – Ohio State football pet.

Last year, cleveland.com’s Best of Cleveland reporters Yadi Rodriguez and Brenda Cain set out to find those diehard Browns fans who spend hours putting together jaw-dropping outfits. This year we’re mixing things up a bit and looking for The Land’s best dressed Buckeye pet.

Take a picture of your “best friend” wearing his bucket – or send us a classic from your family collection. We’ll compile submitted photos and — publish them — so choose your pet set carefully. You can simply inspire others.

A team of cleveland.com staff members will choose 10 pets that they believe best embody the Buckeye spirit, and then it will be up to our readers to choose the winning best-dressed Buckeye pet.

Here are the contest details:

Send us a picture of your pet’s cutest Buckeye fan set. Email your photo to best@cleveland.com by 5 p.m., September 10, so you have plenty of time to create your pet’s look.

Submit your family photo. Inappropriate poses or gestures can be fun, but we won’t be able to post your photo.

Limit your submissions to one photo per animal, so choose carefully.

Any pet is fair game – dogs, cats, birds, snakes, lizards, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs and more.

Please tell us a bit about yourself: name, your hometown and how you support Bloc O, and a phone number in case we need to contact you. Be sure to identify everyone in the photo.

Legal stuff:

No professional photos will be accepted due to copyright laws. Please tell us who took the photo (for photo credit purposes) and how we can contact them for permission to publish the photo – or send written permission with your submission.
